These terms apply in addition to the Vizlume Terms of Service. By creating an organizer account, you agree to both. Where the two documents conflict on a topic specific to organizers, this Addendum controls.
1. Verification requirement
Vizlume verifies the identity of every organizer before approving their account. At signup, organizers are required to upload a government-issued photo ID. The following document types are currently accepted:
- Provincial driver’s licence
- Passport
- Provincial photo identification card
- Permanent Resident card
- Canadian citizenship card
ID documents are stored in a restricted-access bucket with access limited to Vizlume administrators. Documents are retained for [TBD with counsel]days after the organizer leaves the platform, after which they are deleted. Your organizer account will remain in a “pending” state until an administrator has completed verification.
2. Hunt safety obligations
As an organizer, you are responsible for the physical safety of the hunts you create. By submitting a hunt for review you attest that:
- the safety attestation you complete in the hunt builder is truthful and complete;
- you have the legal right or owner’s permission to place a Vizlume QR code at each location you have selected, including any private property;
- each stop is reachable safely by an unaccompanied adult during the hunt’s active window;
- no part of the hunt requires a player to trespass, climb, swim, enter restricted areas, or engage in other prohibited activity to complete a stop.
3. Prize delivery
You commit to delivering the prize described in the hunt as listed at the time of publication. The following prize types are restricted:
- Cash payouts are not permitted as a Vizlume prize.
- Age-restricted goods are not permitted — including alcohol, cannabis, vape and tobacco products, and gambling-related items.
- Chance-based or sweepstakes-style prizes require advance written approval from Vizlume.
Prizes valued above [TBD with counsel — threshold]require the organizer to verify the winner’s identity at the time of prize claim. Delivery method (in-person at a stop, email code, mail, or another method) is fixed to the option you selected when creating the hunt and must be honoured.
4. Conduct toward players
You agree not to:
- solicit, advertise, or otherwise market unrelated products or services to players who participate in your hunts;
- harass, threaten, or intimidate any player, regardless of whether they reported your hunt or behaviour;
- retaliate against a player you suspect has filed a report;
- refuse or unreasonably delay response to admin queries related to a report, a payment, or a safety concern.
5. Indemnification by organizer
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Vizlume harmless from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to a hunt you organize. Without limiting the foregoing, this includes claims arising from: injury at one of your stops; disputes over prize delivery; breach of this Addendum or the underlying Terms; and conduct toward players in violation of Section 4.
6. Insurance (recommended)
Organizers running larger-scale events are strongly encouraged to carry their own event-liability insurance. Vizlume may, at its discretion, require proof of insurance as a condition of approving hunts above [TBD with counsel — scale threshold].
7. Approval, suspension, ban
Your organizer account is subject to administrator approval before you can publish a hunt. Vizlume may suspend or ban an organizer account at its discretion for cause. Cause includes, without limitation:
- false or misleading information in the safety attestation;
- failure to deliver a prize as described;
- harassment or retaliation against players;
- repeated reports against your hunts that Vizlume administrators uphold after review;
- any breach of these terms or applicable law.
Suspension and ban decisions are made by Vizlume administrators based on the information available at the time. Where reasonable, Vizlume will explain the reason for suspension; in some cases (for example, ongoing investigations) full reasons may not be available immediately.
8. Payment terms
Organizer payouts (where applicable) are handled through Stripe Connect. The payout relationship is governed by a separate Stripe Connected Account Agreement that you accept during onboarding, in addition to these Terms. Vizlume’s platform fees, payout cadence, and dispute handling will be described in your organizer settings; the specific values are [TBD with counsel].
9. Termination
You may close your organizer account at any time. Closing the account does not relieve you of obligations associated with hunts you have already run, including prize-delivery commitments and obligations to respond to existing reports. Vizlume may terminate an organizer account in accordance with Section 7.
10. Relationship to base Terms of Service
This Addendum extends the Vizlume Terms of Service. Defined terms used here have the meaning given in the base Terms unless explicitly redefined. Where this Addendum is silent on a topic, the base Terms apply.
